2010 Asian Pacific Male Calendar

The 2010 APM Calendar, with photography by Jeff Sheng, benefits the Asian Pacific Health Care Venture. 100% of the production profits from the sale of the calendar go to the APHCV. The calendar features former Survivor winner Yul Kwon, filmmaker Edward Gunawan, actors Thomas Livezey, Daniel Ichikawa and Ji Han, as wall as Iraq war veteran Frank Chan.

Other models appearing in the calendar include: Sam Serei, Scott Kang, Darren Domingo, Anthony Nguyen, Rob Palomo, Tim Fong, Christopher Kim, and Trung Pham.

The photographer is Asian American artist Jeff Sheng, lecturer and adjunct professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, who teaches Photography and Asian American Studies. He is a graduate of Harvard and UC Irvine, and his work has been seen in the New York Times Magazine, the LA Times, and the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.

"This calendar is a great way to increase the visibility of Asian American men's bodies in a society that disproportionally focuses on "white" beauty, or Asian American women," Sheng said. "Not only are we making something that will monetarily benefit an Asian American community health center, but we are hoping to combat the lack and invisibility of strong, good-looking Asian male imagery out there in American culture."

The calendar benefits the Asian Pacific Health Care Venture of Los Angeles. APHCV is a community health center whose mission is to advocate for and provide health care services to all persons in a culturally competent manner. They offer services with a particular focus on low-income families and underserved Asians and Pacific Islanders.
